depilation with sugar wax / epilação com cera de açúcar

ENG. It is a handmade wax, so simple to do, economic and made with 100% natural and biodegradable materials.

The first step is preparing the wax – cooking it.

Needed material:

250 ml glass jar

1 cup of white sugar

¼ cup of lemon juice

¼ cup of water

1 wooden spatula

How to prepare:

Mix the sugar, lemon juice and water together in a pan.  Stir constantly during 8 minutes. The fire should be moderate. Stir for more 5 to 8 minutes with higher fire until you have the desired consistency.

How to know the consistency?

Carefully put a little of wax between your fingers and see if it glue. It if glues than the wax is ready, if not you need to cook a little more in the fire.

After it, you better wait a little until it gets colder. Meanwhile you can put the wax in the jar.

If you don’t use all wax you can keep it for other time. Next time you only need to heat in the microwaves or putting the jar in boiling water for 5 minutes.

How to use the wax.

Your skin should by dry. For better effect would be better using something to remove humidity such as talcum poder, corn starch or other think that’s good for the effect.

After powder the area to depilate, you can use the wax, preferentially with a wooden spatula to make it more uniform. The ideal temperature should be moderate, not so hot.  If it’s hot it’s more difficult to remove without any band. Carefully with the wooden spatula press in the end of the wax in opposite direction of the growing hair and remove the wax it the hand or with the spatula. The removed wax can be used again until it loose efficiency. However it will have all hairs on it and it can not be so beautiful to see.

All used wax can be compostable in the end. :)

REUSE THE WAX AGAIN/ reutilza a cera outra vez

É uma “cera” caseira,  simples de fazer, económica e com materiais 100% naturais e biodegradáveis.

O primeiro passo é  preparar a cera - cozinhá-la.

Material necessário:

Um frasco de vidro mínimo 250ml.

Um copo de açúcar branco.

¼ de copo de sumo de limão espremido

¼ de copo de água

Espátula de madeira

Preparar:

Juntar o açúcar, sumo de limão e água tudo junto na panela. Mexer constantemente durante 8 minutos. O  lume deve estar brando. Mexer mais 5 a 8 minutos em lume alto se a consistência ainda não estiver boa.

   

Como saber a consistência?

Com muito cuidado colocar um bocadinho da cera entre os dedos e ver se “puxa” (cola). Se puxar já está pronta a usar, caso contrário precisa de mais tempo no lume até ter esse efeito.

Esperar um pouco que esfrie e colocar num fraco de vidro com tampa de mínimo 250 ml. Caso sobre pode reutilizar a cera, aquecendo em banho maria ou pode ir ao microondas.

Como usar a cera:

A pele deve estar seca. É recomendável colocar pó talco, Maizena ou qualquer outra coisa que tenha ao dispor que ajude a tirar a humidade da pele.  Depois de polvorizar a área a depilar, colocar um pouco de cera com a espátula (também pode ser com as mãos se não estiver muito quente, mas a espátula ajuda a espalhar melhor). A temperatura ideal deve estar morna quase fria, pois assim a cera fica mais dura e é mais fácil de tirar. Calca-se na ponta contra o sentido do crescimento dos pêlos e pode arrancar com a mão ou com a ajuda da espátula.

A “cera” removida continua a ter algum efeito de reutilização e pode ser reutilizada. Fica com um aspecto mole. Ela pode ser estendida com a mão na área a depilar e o processo repete-se infinitamente até essa porção de cera não  ter mais utilidade.

Comigo uma pequena porção de cera pode dar para meia perna inteira, mas é normal que tantas vezes a usar fica com um aspecto mais desagradável.

Como o material é biodegradável no final pode ser compostado.
